112-time second division player – 16th newcomer for Arminia Bielefeld.

If Arminia Bielefeld keep making transfers like this, they could play a very good role in the 3. Liga after relegation after all.

Not a day without squad changes at Arminia Bielefeld. After the relegation to the 3rd league, the staff is being completely renewed. Now the 16th addition has been presented.

And as with the players before, the transfer for the 3rd league is absolutely worth seeing. Arminia have loaned out attacker Manuel Wintzheimer from 1. FC Nürnberg for one season.

The 24-year-old has already played 112 second division games for Hamburger SV, VfL Bochum and Nürnberg (15 goals).

“With Manuel, we are getting a player who has played for all of the DFB’s national under-15 teams and was trained as a youth player at FC Bayern Munich. We are very pleased that Manuel has agreed to join us and that we were able to agree a loan deal with 1. FC Nürnberg, and it is another important step in our squad composition. Manuel can always drive our game with his commitment, determination and finishing power,” explain sporting director Michael Mutzel and head coach Mitch Kniat.

And the talks seem to have been so fruitful that the striker has no problem playing one league lower. Wintzheimer emphasises: “When the possibility of moving to Arminia Bielefeld became concrete for me, I immediately decided to do so. Michael Mutzel, whom I still know from HSV, and Mitch Kniat were very convincing in our talks and showed me that they believe in me and what role they think I can play. I’m looking forward to Arminia. I have always perceived the club as a traditional club with enthusiastic fans in an atmospheric stadium.”
