SV Rödinghausen have made another addition on the transfer market. A midfielder with experience from the second and third divisions has joined.
Shortly before the start of the season, SV Rödinghausen has strengthened its squad once again. Paterson Chato is a midfielder with a wealth of experience from the higher leagues. Most recently, Chato was under contract with Austria Lustenau in the Austrian first division.
The club did not say how long his contract at Rödinghausen would last. “We’re very happy to be able to strengthen our midfield once again with Paterson,” said SVR sporting director Alexander Müller on the signing of the new number 8. ”He’s an extremely experienced player who is very strong in tackles.”
The 27-year-old was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and played for Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen as a youth player. He then played for Energie Cottbus, SC Wiedenbrück, Borussia Dortmund U3, Sportfreunde Lotte, Wehen Wiesbaden, Türkgücü München and VfL Osnabrück, with whom he celebrated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga a year ago. His move to Austria followed in the winter.
In the 2nd Bundesliga, the versatile midfielder made 27 appearances (one goal). He made 116 appearances in the 3rd division (six goals, five assists). Chato has also left his mark in the Regionalliga West (84 appearances, eight goals, three assists).
