33 points and fourth place! “We are hungry for more”

Rot-Weiss Essen go into the winter break with 33 points. And the dreams of the Bundesliga 2 are becoming more and more realistic. RWE has become a top team.

At the latest after this comeback against Hallescher FC and the 3:2 victory, one has to say about Rot-Weiss Essen: This is how a top team in the 3rd division plays. And that is RWE – at least now.

Christoph Dabrowski and his charges have 33 points after 19 games. As a reminder: When they were relegated in the 2022/2023 season, they ended up with 42 points. This red and white team is fun for every fan.

And the coach is also enjoying what has happened in the last 19 matches. Dabrowski told “MagentaSport” after the madness in Halle: “It’s fantastic what happened in the second half, even though we were dealt a blow right at the start. But then we pressed without end after we changed our tactics. It was only a matter of time before the goals started to come. I’m extremely proud of the boys. That speaks volumes for the team’s character.”

And what about the table, Mr. Dabrowski? He replied: “A great snapshot. I’ll be on vacation tomorrow, so maybe I’ll take a look at the table then. We’ve put ourselves in a great starting position. But we have to have the ambition to stay hungry and greedy. We like winning games and if we keep doing that, we’ll be sniffing at the top half of the table. That just feels great. “

We want to be up there for as long as possible. We’re hungry for more!

Cedric Harenbrock

The players, like Cedric Harenbrock, who scored the 1:2 in the meantime, have definitely smelled a rat and are reluctant to leave the upper region of the table again this season.

Harenbrock: “We couldn’t have imagined a better end to this year. We never give up and believed in ourselves even after going 2-0 down. With our fans behind us, we played a great game to the end. Leonardo Vonic does it in the manner of a number nine – and then it escalates. We want to stay up there as long as possible. We’re hungry for more!”
