Ahlen with a zero, WSV finds substitute opponent, Münster now starts too

The West-Regionalliga teams are busy preparing for the second half of the season. Many test matches are currently scheduled.

Second game and second time played to nil: Rot Weiss Ahlen are currently doing what coach Andreas Golombek asked them to do in preparation.

“We have to strengthen our defence. At the moment it looks quite good,” said the new Ahlen coach after the draw against FC Gütersloh. Before that, Ahlen won 5:0 at A-League leader Oelde.

Wuppertaler SV also wanted to play a test match next weekend (Sunday, 15 January) against the top team of the Oberliga, TuS Bövinghausen. But the Dortmund team cancelled the WSV.

“Unfortunately, we have to cancel because we have injury problems. It doesn’t make sense for us to fill the squad against a regional league team like Wuppertal with players from our second team. Our cancellation is very early. I’m sure the Wuppertal team will find a good replacement,” Ajan Dzaferoski, boss of TuS Bövinghausen, told RevierSport at the beginning of the week.

And on Tuesday – 10 January – Wuppertaler SV already presented Bövinghausen’s substitute opponent. The regional league team will test against Türkspor Dortmund, a Westfalenliga team coached by ex-Bövinghausen coach Sebastian Tyrala, on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the “Gelber Sprung” in Wuppertal.

For the past seven days, league leaders Preußen Münster have also been preparing for the rest of the season on 5 February against Alemannia Aachen. And on Wednesday – 11 January – the first test match is on the agenda.

Starting at 1.30 pm, Münster will test against Bremen on the artificial turf in Rheine. For organisational reasons, spectators are not allowed at the match.

“For us, the main thing against the tenth-placed team in the Regionalliga Nord will be to use as many players as possible under competitive conditions. We will play the halves against Werder’s second team with two teams of penalties each,” the official Preußen side says.
