3:1 test victory, Poland duel still to come – Here’s how things are going in Turkey

Wuppertaler SV are in the final phase of their Turkey training camp. One test match has been played, another test is still to come.

Wuppertaler SV defeated Oberliga side Bischofswerdaer FV 3:1 during the week.

On Saturday (3 p.m. local time, 1 p.m. German time), WSV will meet the Polish second-division team Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza in Belek, Turkey.

“The test against Bischofswerdaer was really good. We met a decent opponent who is playing for promotion to the Regionalliga Nordost. Of course, you could see that our boys’ legs were heavy. But that has to be the case in a training camp. Now we’ll use the last few days to continue working well and play a positive test match on Saturday. Then we’ll go back on Sunday evening,” sports director Stephan Küsters told RevierSport.

Küsters is completely satisfied with the training camp. Küsters: “There are no injuries, everything is going perfectly. The hotel is great, the food is top notch and the conditions, as I said, are just great. We have sunshine all the time. This is a great way to work. “

Küsters doesn’t yet know what the Wuppertal team’s good mood in Belek will mean for the rest of the season in the Regionalliga West. The 51-year-old says: “I’m not a fan of speculation or predictions. We had a good training camp last year and a good gut feeling. Unfortunately, we started with defeats in Essen and Cologne. We’ll see how good the preparation really was after the first two or three league games. “
