In the coaching team – Another personnel decision has been made

Wuppertaler SV continue to plan diligently for the new 2023/2024 season, with the club announcing another personnel decision.

Wuppertaler SV can announce that Andy Steinmann will remain with the club as co-coach of the regional league team in the coming season. Steinmann already worked successfully in this position last season and will continue in his role.

Last season, Steinmann came to Wuppertaler SV from Sportfreunde Lotte and since then it has been impossible to imagine the team without him as co-coach. Under the guidance of Björn Mehnert and after taking over from Hüzeyfe Dogan, he has established himself as an integral part of the coaching team.

“I am happy that Andy is staying with us and that we still share the coaching office. Andy played a big part in the successful last season just like the rest of the coaching team,” says head coach Hüzeyfe Dogan.

“I enjoy working with the people in charge and the players in Wuppertal and they are on the right track. I want to push this further and make every player and the team better,” adds Steinmann, the former head coach of Sportfreunde Lotte and assistant at SV Rödinghausen.

Dogan and Steinmann will ask the WSV players to attend the start of training on 19 June. From 10 to 16 July, we will travel to Willingen again for a training camp. The new Regionalliga West season starts on 28 July.

Sporting director Gaetano Manno is satisfied with the squad: “We are planning on 20 field players plus three goalkeepers. We want to welcome this number of players at the start of training on 19 June. In the end, there should be 22 field players. I hope we can present three to four more guys in the next few days.”
