Preußen Münster with a landslide win against Bocholt

SC Preußen Münster scored a 5:0 (1:0) win against 1. FC Bocholt on Friday evening.

SC Preußen Münster remains “perfect” in the Regionalliga West. The club also won its third match of the 2022/2023 season. On Friday evening, they won a convincing 5:1 against the promoted 1. FC Bocholt.

After a brisk and above all balanced opening phase with chances on both sides – among them Kevin Grund after a misplaced pass by the hosts (13th) – the Münster team got better and better into the game and increased the pressure. The reward came after 31 minutes: a cross from Alexander Langlitz found no takers, but Marc Beckert was ultimately shot and deflected the ball into his own goal – 1:0. For the home side, this was the wake-up signal, a game on one goal developed, Andrew Wooten (38th) and Henok Teklab (45th) missed good chances to make it 2:0 before the break.

After the change of ends, Preußen Münster finally made things clear. It only took two minutes for the 2:0 lead to be established: Nicolai Remberg got around Bocholt keeper Sebastian Wickl and slotted home. Ten minutes later, the decision was made: After a catastrophic mispass, it came to another duel between Wickl and the SCP attacker, this time the keeper brought down Wooten – penalty. The fouled player converted himself to make it 3:0 (59.).

Bocholt had another great chance through Marcel Platzek (he headed at Schulze Niehues), but the promoted team did not want to score on this evening. Preußen Münster was a different story: Remberg (from 30 metres, 70th) and Wooten (73rd) made the 5:0 victory perfect for the early league leaders.

A little earlier in the evening, Fortuna Düsseldorf II and Alemannia Aachen drew 1-1. SV Rödinghausen defeated Fortuna Köln 2-0 away from home and remain hot on the heels of Münster.
