Münster make it double figures, Kaan-Marienborn trembles, Rödinghausen advances

The last three games of the 1st round of the Westfalenpokal were played on Wednesday. Four regional league teams were in the mix

SV Rot-Weiß Hünsborn – SC Preußen Münster 0:13

The favourites from Münster took control of the match against the Landesliga team. And were rewarded early on. Attacker Gerrit Wegkamp gave the regional league side the lead after eleven minutes with a penalty kick after Thorben Deters had been fouled. It was the start of a shooting match. At the break, it was 6:0 after further goals by Darius Ghindovean, Wegkamp (2), Deters and Kevin Schacht.

After the break, Deniz Bindemann made it 7-0. Goals from Niko Koulis, Ghindovean, Henok Teklab (2), Yassine Bouchama and Manfred Osei Kwadwo followed against the chanceless underdogs.

After the resounding win, Münster continue their regional league campaign at home against Gladbach II on Saturday (2pm).

Türkspor Dortmund – 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn 0:1

Regional League promoted Kaan-Marienborn had a very hard time against the strong Westfalenliga promoted team. After a goal by Din Alajbegovic, the visitors went into the dressing room with a 1-0 lead, although the home side also had their opportunities. After the change, the game remained exciting until the final whistle, but no goals were scored, so Kaan-Marienborn managed to advance to the 2nd round. The next match will be against TuS Bövinghausen, who have been promoted to the Oberliga Westfalen.

SV Rödinghausen – SV Lippstadt 2:1

The top match of the 1st round. Two regional league teams among themselves, both didn’t want to drop out in the first game. Both started the league strongly, winning three of four games each. On Wednesday, SV Rödinghausen won 2:1. Lippstadt got off to the better start and took the lead through Luis Ortmann (50th). But SVR countered just two minutes later – Adrian Bravo Sanchez equalised. When everything looked like there would be no winner after 90 minutes, Nico Tübing, who was substituted after 73 minutes, scored in injury time to win the match for the hosts.
