Rot-Weiß Oberhausen looks back on ten points after four games. The Cologne II match (1:4) is still being negotiated at the green table. We spoke to the RWO sports director.
Patrick Bauder is in a good mood at the moment. He can be in a good mood, because Rot-Weiß Oberhausen started the 2022/2023 season with ten points from four games.
Of course, there is still the abandoned 1:4 at 1.FC Köln. But: As is well known, this match will be negotiated at the green table. The first scheduled date, Thursday (25 August), had to be postponed. A new date has not yet been set.
RevierSport spoke to Patrick Bauder (32) on Monday.
The RWO head of sport about…
.. the season so far: “We had good phases in every game, but we weren’t always as active over 90 minutes as we would like. Against Lippstadt, however, it was really good. Even after the 0:1 we kept our cool and didn’t lose sight of our plan. We always prepared our attacks well and patiently and in the end deserved to win 3:1.”
… the Niederrheinpokal match on Tuesday against A-Ligist MTV Union Hamborn: “With all due respect to our opponents, the only thing that counts for us is a clear victory and advancing. The Lower Rhine Cup and RWO are not exactly the closest of friends. We want to try to change that this season. But we’ll look from round to round first.”
… the current personnel situation: “Apart from Nico Klaß, who continues to have problems with his ankle, and Sebastian Mai, who is struggling with adductor problems, all men are fit and ready for action.”
… Saturday’s top game in Rödinghausen: “SV Rödinghausen is a top team in the league. We’re up against a great team with a lot of experience and physical strength. Coach Carsten Rump always puts the SVR in the best possible position and they are a great challenge for every opponent. We are looking forward to this comparison.”
… the signing of Christian März: “Christian März is someone we wanted to get and we are happy that he is here. He has good aggressiveness against the ball, but can also set the tempo in the game and is flexible. He knows RWO and coach Mike Terranova as well as our philosophy. Everything just fitted, that’s why we brought him back.”
… Transfer activities until 1 September: “One or two guys who didn’t get the playing time they wanted could still leave us. That’s where we’re looking for a solution. If that is the case, then it is quite possible that we will still do something. We still have a few days and will wait and see what happens. “
