VfL Bochum are rarely rewarded for their efforts. That needs to change quickly, otherwise they will have to look down again.

Ahead of VfL Bochum’s away match in the Bundesliga at Eintracht Frankfurt (Saturday, 3:30 pm), one thing is certain: VfL are currently hardly being outdone in the A-score.

Dream goals have been the order of the day in recent months and years. Be it Gerrit Holtmann, Anthony Losilla, Goncalo Paciencia, Patrick Osterhage or, most recently, Moritz Broschinski with a side-footed strike against Augsburg.

When VfL score, they usually do so in spectacular fashion. The problem is that the B-score is lacking, with Bochum rarely managing to add to their tally and ultimately score the three-goal haul

This was also the case against FC Augsburg, when they once again conceded an equalizer shortly before the end and were only able to add one point to their tally.

As captain Anthony Losilla explains, the mood after the matches is accordingly: “We could have decided the game beforehand, the chances were there. Otherwise something like that can happen, one unfortunate situation is enough. Once again, it felt like a defeat.”

Three tough games now follow. They travel to Frankfurt on Saturday, followed by Bayern and Gladbach. The cushion to the relegation places is six points, so it would be good to get something from Eintracht as well.

Losilla on the opponents, who were somewhat unsettled after the 2-0 defeat to 1. FC Köln: “Frankfurt now have a different ambition. They want to get into Europe and they missed a good chance with the 2-0 draw in Cologne. Nevertheless, this is a great team that has been strengthened with international players from big clubs. It will be very difficult, the atmosphere in Frankfurt is special.”

But nothing stands in the way of him playing in Frankfurt.
