Third division club SC Preußen Münster is playing a strong season. This is also due to a prolific strike duo.
SC Preußen Münster is rushing from victory to victory in the 3rd division. Most recently, the promoted team left the pitch victorious six times in a row. The current international break comes at a bad time for the in-form Prussians.
However, the weekend will not be without a competitive match. Münster will host league rivals Arminia Bielefeld in the Westfalenpokal semi-final (March 23, 2 p.m.) and will be supported by 3,000 Preußen fans.
Coach Sascha Hildmann will probably be relying on his attacking duo again on the way to a possible seventh competitive match win in a row: Joel Grodowski (15 league goals) and Malik Batmaz (14 league goals) have been in absolute top form for weeks.
Both attackers complement each other perfectly with their respective strengths in the Prussians’ 4-4-2 system. While the quick-as-an-arrow Grodowski can hardly be stopped by opposing defenders and is a man for the special moments, the powerful Batmaz impresses with his extremely effective style of play.
It is therefore no wonder that the two strikers form the top duo in the 3rd division. Together they have scored 29 goals, followed by Jannik Mause/David Kopacz (FC Ingolstadt) and Dominic Baumann/Tunay Deniz (Hallescher FC, both 23). You can see that Grodowski and Batmaz stand out from the competition.
Only two duos are better than Grodowski and Batmaz
Compared to all three German professional leagues, the Prussian strikers are also right at the top. Only two duos in the whole of Germany are better.
Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala are in first place (41 goals between them), followed by Stuttgart’s top scorer Serhou Guirassy and high-flyer Deniz Undav (36 goals between them). Although Joel Grodowski and Malik Batmaz are still a few goals short of this mark, it is an honor for the third division professionals to even be mentioned in the same sentence as these names.
The five best duos in German professional soccer:
1.Harry Kane (31), Jamal Musiala (10) = 41 goals for Bayern Munich
2. Serhou Guirassy (22), Deniz Undav (14) = 36 goals for Stuttgart
3.Joel Grodowski (15), Malik Batmaz (14) = 29 goals for Preußen Münster
4.Robert Glatzel (16), Laszlo Benes (12) = 28 goals for Hamburger SV
5.Loïs Openda (19), Xavi Simons (7) = 26 goals for RB Leipzig
