“I’m fed up too – that was just bad”

Anyone who thought that FC Schalke 04’s victory against Eintracht Braunschweig was some kind of chest opener was disappointed. Schalke lost 0-1 in Kiel after a poor performance.

The approximately 3,000 FC Schalke 04 fans who traveled with the team were speechless after the 1-0 defeat at KSV Holstein Kiel. No words of encouragement for the team, no whistling concert.

The Schalke professionals, including Marius Müller, also noticed this reaction. The S04 number one, who kept the Gelsenkircheners from falling behind in the first 45 minutes, had clear words for “Sky” about Schalke’s performance at the Kiel Fjord.

Müller’s plain language: “There will be no feedback from the fans after this game. If they cheer, it’s nice, but if they don’t give any feedback, we should think about it. I’m fed up too. We have to manage to win two or three games in a row. This up and down just hurts. Nevertheless, we have to keep going and put our eggs back on the table against Wehen Wiesbaden.”

But before the promoted team from Hesse comes to the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen – Saturday, February 17, 1 p.m., Forecasting live ticker – Kiel’s performance must first be dealt with.

Müller made a start: “In the end, it’s not enough to perform like this. We knew it was going to be tough. We made too many mistakes, too many bad things, we sleep at the goal – that’s absolutely not enough. It’s not enough! Kiel should have been leading in the first half. I don’t know why it’s going that way for us. But it was too little of everything, too much headless, too much rash, it was just bad.”

Müller was not willing to accept the fact that Kiel took the lead after about an hour through former Schalke player Steven Skrzybski, with what appeared to be a volley shot that was preceded by Shuto Machino fouling Simon Terodde, as an alibi.

“In the end, it’s bitter that the 18-yard box is right in front of me and I don’t see the shot properly. The whole situation, leading up to the corner, is bitter. We were caught napping there,” Müller emphasized.
