In the wake of the energy crisis, the stadium operations of second division football club 1. FC Nuremberg will be severely restricted.

According to a statement by the Nuremberg city council, floodlighting at the Max Morlock Stadium will be limited to a maximum of 9 pm. This means that evening matches will be virtually impossible for the current 13th-placed team in the second Bundesliga.

According to the city council, the corresponding decisions have been agreed with the German Football League (DFL). The pitch heating system in the stadium is also to be discontinued for the time being.
