Fortuna Cologne are the new leaders of the Regionalliga West after beating 1. FC Düren. Wuppertaler SV win after trailing 0:2.
Fortuna Cologne has taken the lead in the Regionalliga West. In a direct duel with the previous leaders 1. FC Düren, Markus von Ahlen’s team won 1-0 (1-0).
The hosts took the lead after about half an hour. Dominik Ernst scored the 1-0 lead with an incredible long-range shot (35th minute). Fortuna kept the pressure on and had several good chances to double their lead before half-time.
It was only after an hour or so that the visitors got into the game better. However, there were no clear chances. It was only in the final phase that Fortuna Cologne had to tremble. Without consequences. It remained 1:0.
Fortuna Cologne, now with 26 points, wrestled the lead from 1. FC Düren due to their better goal difference. 1. FC Bocholt could overtake both of them with a draw against Rot Weiss Ahlen on Saturday.

Fortuna Düsseldorf II – Wuppertaler SV 2:3 (2:1)
For 43 minutes, it looked like Jens Langeneke would have a dream debut as coach of Fortuna Düsseldorf II! But then Wuppertal SV demonstrated its comeback qualities and turned a 0-2 deficit into a 3-2 win.
Düsseldorf, with only nine points from their first twelve games, made a surprisingly spirited start and took the lead after just 13 minutes. Robin Bird scored with a follow-up shot. The visitors had a difficult start.
The home side, on the other hand, got off to a flying start: after a cross from Luis Felipe Monteiro, the ball landed at King Samuel, who scored from close range to make it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. Shortly before half-time, Damjan Marceta had to apply the finishing touch to a cross (43rd).

After the break, the favorites showed a different side and were rewarded with the equalizer from Semir Sacir, who scored from close range (54′ ). The WSV then played for the win. But Düsseldorf, busy with defensive work after the connection, also woke up from time to time: Sebastian Patzler had to make a last-ditch save against Minwoo Kim after a free kick (74′ ).
In the final stages, Wuppertal finally made their comeback count: after a cross, Charlison Benschop did not hesitate to score the late 3-2 winner (87′).
Goalless draw between Lippstadt and Rödinghausen
The third and final game in the Regionalliga West on Friday evening ended in a 0-0 draw between SV Lippstadt 08 and SV Rödinghausen.
The hosts remain in the relegation zone, while the SVR remain in the middle of the table.
