Club legends run for the presidium

Marcel Maltritz and Ralf Zumdick are running for the presidium at the general meeting on 15 November. The club doctor wants to serve as chairman.

The next personnel bang at VfL Bochum could come on 15 November. As the Funke Mediengruppe first reported, a five-member opposition will stand for election at the general meeting.

This will be led by the current club doctor Dr. Karl-Heinz Bauer (who has worked for the club since 1999), and will also include the two club legends Marcel Maltritz and Ralf Zumdick. In addition, the managing director of Arbeiterwohlfahrt Ruhr-Lippe Marc Schaaf and shoe business entrepreneur Andreas Bobon are part of the team of candidates.

The latter has so far only appeared in ice hockey. He was a short-term sponsor of the Eisadlern Dortmund and the Herner EV.

This would lead to a battle vote between the opposition around Bauer and the current executive committee around chairman Hans-Peter Villis. The latter will be joined by the current supervisory board members Franz-Josef Tenhagen, Dr. Andreas Eickhoff, Uwe Tigges and Volker Goldmann. In addition, a woman is to take over the post from Martin Kree. The latter is quitting for personal reasons.

Admission to the election appears questionable

Now the search committee must approve the candidacy. The committee will accept proposals until 2 November and will examine various criteria that are required for election to the Presidium. In addition, there will be interviews in which the candidates will be examined for their suitability.
