Election of the presidium – that’s what Bauer, Maltritz and Co. want

The VfL general meeting is scheduled for Tuesday. There is an opposition that is standing for the presidential election. That’s what Marcel Maltritz and Co.

On Tuesday, a new presidium will be elected at VfL Bochum’s general meeting. Since not only the incumbent team around Hans-Peter Villis is up for election, the event will have a neat explosiveness.

Villis and his team (Volker Goldmann, Franz-Josef Tenhagen, Dr. Andreas Eickhoff, Uwe Tigges and the fan representative Martin Volpers, who has already been elected by the fan clubs) will compete against the challengers.

Here, club doctor Dr. Bauer is at the helm, and his team also includes former VfL professionals Marcel Maltritz and Ralf Zumdick as well as entrepreneur Andreas Bobon and AWO managing director Marc Schaaf.

Several fan clubs and the VfL Bochum business council have already signalled that they are behind the incumbent presidium, but it will be exciting to see how the members decide in the end.

In a video that Maltritz published via Twitter, the opposition has now reported what they are aiming for should they be elected by the members.

Maltritz stresses in the 72-second video: “If you want to be successful in the future and be successful on the pitch, you have to know how to do it. I know that, that’s what I stand for and that’s my motivation.”

Bobon added: “Of course football is also business, for that you need a clear plan, a clear concept and that’s what I stand for.”

Schaaf on his subject: “VfL, these are our members, these are our fans. It is the top management task to never forget that. Because without them, there is no Castroper Street football.”

Zumdick, who went by the nickname “Cat” as a goalkeeper, wants to throw his contact into the race for Bochum. “In my career as a player and also as a coach – nationally and internationally – I have been able to experience the sympathy that VfL enjoys everywhere. Of course, I have met many, many people in this industry and naturally have a large network that I would like to use for VfL.”

And Bauer, who leads the team, wraps up. His announcement: “It’s about acting in a planned manner, about strategic action and about honest, appreciative work with new ideas. That’s what VfL needs. And that’s what I stand for with my team. Only VfL. “
