After three and a half years in Turkey, Taskin Aksoy has returned to Germany at the end of 2022. The football coach is now on the lookout for a new job.
Youth coordinator, co-coach and head coach: Taskin Aksoy has experienced several facets of football in the last three and a half years in Turkey.
Actually, similar to what he experienced before he moved to Turkey. Because there, the 55-year-old football coach was also active in different positions at Fortuna Düsseldorf.
“The time in Turkey was very exciting. I gained a lot of new experiences. It was a good time overall. But it’s also nice to be back in Germany,” he tells us.
Aksoy adds to RevierSport: “My wife and our two sons, who are 28 and 24, haven’t seen me much in the last few years. Of course, there’s been a lot of flying back and forth. But it’s always different when you’re on site with your family. That’s why I want to settle down here now. “
The Aksoy family is at home in Ratingen, near Düsseldorf. If the football coach has his way, his new job should also be in North Rhine-Westphalia. “I’m listening to everything, of course. I’ve already had two talks with regional league clubs. But it simply has to fit. That wasn’t the case in those talks. A NRW offer that fits would be super. But I also listen to things outside the NRW borders,” emphasises Aksoy, who was most recently head coach in Turkey.
After five games – one win, four defeats – he had to leave Genclerbirligi Ankara. However, the club is not doing any better 14 matches after Aksoy’s leave. They still have only one win under Aksoy and a total of only seven points. The capital club is bottom of the table.
Aksoy: “It was a suicide mission that I took on at Genclerbirligi. The club had recently been subject to an 18-month transfer ban. It was really difficult. But I thought I would get the time to build something up. But in Turkey, patience is one thing with the people in charge. Now I’m back in Germany and full of energy. I’m curious to see what awaits me in 2023. I’m definitely looking forward to a new challenge. “
