Alemannia Aachen threatened with false start

After two close and competitive games in the Regionalliga West, Alemannia Aachen have only one point to their name. They are looking for their first win against Fortuna Düsseldorf II.

Alemannia Aachen could only take one point from their first two matches in the Regionalliga West. After an opening defeat against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, they had to accept an equaliser against 1. FC Düren shortly before the end in their first home match.

Coach Fuat Kilic was a little disappointed: “If you look at the number of points, it’s obviously a mediocre start. We should have taken more from the first two games, especially the game against Oberhausen. And when you are leading against Düren shortly before the end, you have to close the bag and take the points home. So we are definitely a few points short. That doesn’t correspond to the performance we have shown so far.”

The Alemannia coach has been very satisfied with this performance for long stretches so far. That’s why he doesn’t want to set the results too high. “At the end of the day, our goal is to play a solid round and clearly reach a single-digit place in the table. We shouldn’t start talking about pressure after the second matchday,” Kilic explains. If the team continues the performances of the first games, the results will come with time.

Alemannia Aachen: Fuat Kilic expects close game

On the third matchday, Aachen are guests of Fortuna Düsseldorf’s reserves. “Düsseldorf is a team that definitely has playing qualities,” Kilic praises the upcoming opponent. The Düsseldorfers recently won the away match at 1.FC Bocholt 2-1. “We have to make sure that we don’t give them much space so that they can’t develop at all. It will be a close game for sure, no game is easy in this league. Our goal is to neutralise the opponent and bring our intensity onto the pitch again,” Kilic describes the recipe for success for the first win of the season.

In the coming week, Kilic’s team will have a game off before the Aachen team has to play Wuppertaler SV on matchday five. In order to avoid being stuck deep in the bottom half of the table, the first win of the season should not be too long in coming.
