TuS Bövinghausen had to drop points for the first time in the Oberliga Westfalen and parted with a 1-1 draw against SC Paderborn II. Coach Sebastian Tyrala is “happy to take the point”.
To open the 5th matchday in the Oberliga Westfalen, TuS Bövinghausen welcomed the second team of SC Paderborn. In a physically accentuated game with some highlights, Großkreutz and Co. took home a 1-1 draw and thus remain unbeaten in the new season.
Head coach Sebastian Tyrala was annoyed about a sleepy start, but praised the steadily increasing pressure that the Dortmund team was able to build up: “The first ten minutes were not good. We were still sleeping and were consequently behind. After that, we played a good game. We knew that the opponent can always be dangerous, but in the second half only one team played and that was us.” He said his team “built up a lot of pressure” in the closing stages and had “numerous standards, corners and crosses”. “We are happy to take the point against a good opponent. Showed brutal morale, put everything into it,” Tyrala told us.
Tyrala’s half-time speeches show effect
Boevinghausen fell behind early in the game: Ken Robin Czok scored the opening goal for the East Westphalians from distance (8th). The chance to extend the lead was missed by ex-Wuppertal player Dominik Bilogrevic with a missed penalty (21.). On the other side, the ball did not go in from the penalty spot either: Elmin Heric, who is usually so good at scoring, missed (56th). In the 86th minute, captain Maurice Rene Haar finally redeemed his team and scored from the turn to make the final score 1:1.
For the third time in the still young season, TuS Bövinghausen were able to turn a deficit into a point. Tyrala appreciates this strength: “I said to the boys at half-time: If a team can turn a game around at the moment, then it’s us. After the break there was real verve, real pepper in it. Now we’ve already secured something countable with the second half and can be happy at the end. “
Tyrala “totally satisfied” with the points haul
After the fifth game, the promoted team from Dortmund is still without a defeat and belongs to the top group of the Oberliga with 13 points. Tyrala went into the new season optimistic, but is still surprised that there were no teething problems in the higher competition: “Of course, I knew that we were good and what my team was capable of. But of course you don’t imagine that things will go well for us right from the start. Admittedly, we have also had a lot of luck. That’s part of it in the Oberliga. We’re totally satisfied with the 13 points and are now looking forward to a cup evening against Kaan-Marienborn on Tuesday. “
