Done deal! A new signing for the left side – “He’s eager for the challenge”

FC Schalke 04, the leader of the second division, has introduced its next new player. This time, for the left side of the defense.

Reinforcement for the left side of the defense: Moussa N’Diaye will wear the FC Schalke 04 jersey for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season.

The left-footed player is joining the Royal Blues on loan from RSC Anderlecht and will wear the number 16 jersey. The second-division leaders announced this on Monday evening (February 2, 2026).

“It was important for us to have more depth on the left side of defense. With Moussa, we’re bringing in a player for this position who embodies intense soccer,” says Youri Mulder, Director of Professional Soccer. “He made it clear to us during our talks that he’s eager for the challenge.”

Born in Senegal, N’Diaye moved to Europe in the summer of 2020 to join FC Barcelona’s U19 team. After playing for the Catalans’ reserve team, the left-footed player moved to RSC Anderlecht in 2022. The 23-year-old made 102 appearances for the Belgian club, scoring two goals and setting up six.

N’Diaye is looking forward to his time at Schalke: “I can’t wait to start training with the team tomorrow. The team plays very intense soccer, which I like. I want to give my all so that it will be a successful season for the team and the fans.”

Midfielder Adil Aouchiche, previously on loan from AFC Sunderland to Scottish Premier League side FC Aberdeen, has also signed a contract with Schalke—running through June 30, 2027. Forecasting reported.

At just 23 years old, Aouchiche nevertheless brings a wealth of international experience: including 81 appearances in Ligue 1, 48 in the English second division (Championship), and 20 in the Scottish Premiership. This season, he has taken the field a total of 30 times for Aberdeen (three goals, two assists).

“When the call came, I was very happy and immediately excited about joining Schalke,” explains Aouchiche. “We have big plans, and I want to do my part to ensure we have a successful second half of the season. I want to show that in every training session.”
