Another member of Rot-Weiss Essen’s promotion squad has finally found a new club. Marius Kleinsorge found what he was looking for in the 3rd division.
Marius Kleinsorge was under contract with Rot-Weiss Essen for half a year. After promotion, however, he returned to his parent club Kaiserslautern and started looking for a club. Now the 26-year-old has finally found what he was looking for: Like his former teammates, he now plays in the 3rd division. He is moving to SV Meppen. Kleinsorge was already under contract there between 2016 and 2020 before he moved to the Red Devils.
“We are very happy about this move back to SVM. We have never lost sight of each other and have had many talks. Marius has always shown full commitment and has a great identification with SV Meppen,” Meppen’s sports director Heiner Beckmann is euphoric about the returnee. “We hope that Marius will be able to build on the strong performances he showed before his transfer to Kaiserslautern and thus strengthen us further offensively. “
The winger signed a three-year contract in Emsland. In the four years he has been active for Meppen, he has scored 31 goals and 18 assists in 120 games and played a major role in their promotion to the 3. Liga in the 2016/2017 Regionalliga season with 21 scorer points. Kleinsorge moved to the Ems from Wehen Wiesbaden at the time. In Lautern, he made just 18 appearances in one and a half years. Former Meppen coach Christian Neidhart was also involved in the loan to Essen.
