Experience Abroad and in the Third Division — 1. FC Bocholt Adds Another Forward

1. FC Bocholt has announced its fifth winter signing. A forward has joined coach Rene Lewejohann’s squad.

Following Nazzareno Cicarelli (Sportfreunde Lotte), Paul Seidel (Erzgebirge Aue, on loan), Dominik Lanius (Hansa Rostock), and Ozan Hot (1. FC Kaiserslautern), 1. FC Bocholt has introduced its fifth winter signing.

As previously announced by Forecasting, 1. FC Bocholt has signed forward Jesaja Herrmann. The 25-year-old forward signed a contract on Friday (January 23) at the Hünting facility in Bocholt and is expected to strengthen the offense.

Herrmann was born in Kiel and began his soccer training in the youth academies of Hannover 96 and later VfL Wolfsburg, where he stood out in the junior Bundesliga leagues by scoring numerous goals. After his time at Wolfsburg’s youth academy, he gained his first experience at the senior level with VfL Wolfsburg II in the Regionalliga Nord.

His career path then took him to KV Kortrijk in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League in 2021, where he made his professional debut. This was followed by a loan to NAC Breda in the Netherlands, as well as stints in Germany with SV Waldhof Mannheim in the 3. Liga and in Austria with SKU Amstetten, where Herrmann played regularly in the 2. Liga during the 2024–25 season and scored several goals. Most recently, during the 2025–26 season, he was under contract with the Luxembourgish first-division club Racing FC Union Luxembourg (twelve competitive matches, eight goals).

I made a conscious decision to take this step. The discussions with the club officials were convincing. I’m looking forward to this project at 1. FC Bocholt and will do everything in my power to help the club achieve its goals

Jesaja Herrmann

In addition to his experience in professional soccer, Herrmann also brings international youth experience: He played in numerous matches for German junior national teams up to the U19 squad, where he was a prolific striker.

Christopher Schorch, the sporting director of 1. FC Bocholt, is proud of the successful transfer: “By signing Jesaja Herrmann, we’ve managed to secure our top choice for the forward line. He combines physical presence and toughness with technical skill. Jesaja has consistently demonstrated his goal-scoring ability at his previous clubs.”

Herrmann is also excited about the move: “I made a conscious decision to take this step. The discussions with the club officials were convincing. I’m looking forward to this project at 1. FC Bocholt and will do everything I can to help the club achieve its goals.”
