The contract of international player Youssoufa Moukoko at BVB expires in the summer of 2023. Agreement on an extension has not yet been reached.
Bundesliga football club Borussia Dortmund is worried about the whereabouts of Youssoufa Moukoko. The 18-year-old forward talent is still under contract with BVB until next summer. A contract extension is not yet in sight. As reported by the newspaper “Bild”, BVB and Moukoko’s side have not yet been able to reach an agreement. According to the report, Dortmund have offered the national player an annual salary of six million euros. This is still too little. The Moukoko side demanded at least seven million euros per year.
The BVB star reacted to this report with indignation on Friday. In his Instagram story, Moukoko posted a statement: “Please don’t believe everything you read in the papers. I know that this is all part of the football business by now. But even though I am still young, I will not be pressured in my decision about my future. I will never accept such a lie about me,” he wrote.
His “full focus” is on the second half of the season with BVB. However, he did not publish a clear commitment to his club. Instead, he left room for speculation: “No player is bigger than the club, I am and will never be bigger than the club and in the end I am only a small part of it. “
BVB: Moukoko raises covetousness
Moukoko’s contract with the Black and Yellows expires at the end of the season. Recently, there were rumours that top English club FC Chelsea, among others, were interested in the German World Cup player. Manchester United, FC Liverpool and FC Barcelona have also been linked with the attacker.
Moukoko’s advisor Patrick Williams had recently fuelled the rumours: “A player like Youssoufa is interesting for all the top clubs in the world. Especially if he is free on a transfer and has a future in the German national team. I can confirm that we are not yet close to signing a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund,” he had said on Sky.
In the current season, BVB’s own youngster Moukoko has been quite convincing. In 22 matches for the runners-up, the striker has scored six goals and provided six assists. National coach Hansi Flick nominated him for the World Cup in Qatar. There he made a brief appearance in the first group match against Japan (1:2).
BVB striker Moukoko earns regular place
Moukoko broke all the goalscoring records in his youth at BVB and was considered a super talent at a young age. He made his debut in the Bundesliga at the age of 16. In the first half of the current season, the striker earned himself a regular place at BVB. That arouses desire.
