Fans can get in the mood here

S04 is offering fans a varied program around the friendly clash between Schalke and Nuremberg. From pub quizzes to an arena tour.

Schalke 04 is gearing up for a mega fan party. Ahead of the second division clash against 1. FC Nürnberg (Saturday, 8.30 pm/Sport1 and Sky), the friendship between the two fan camps will be celebrated.

Sebastian Buntkirchen, Schalke’s Director of Fans and Sustainability: “The connection between Schalke 04 and 1. FC Nürnberg is unique. This fan friendship has been with me my whole life. This close bond is not only lived intensively by the two fan camps, but also by the clubs.”

On Friday evening, fans from Schalke and Nuremberg will get in the mood for the game at the Veltins Arena with a pub quiz in which questions about both clubs will be asked. 100 participants have already registered for the quiz, which starts at 19:04. A colorful party will be held at the Glückaufkampfbahn during the course of Saturday. Admission is free.

At 2.30 pm, the Gelsenkirchen city selection and a city selection from Nuremberg will meet. At 4 p.m., the traditional teams of FC Schalke 04 and 1. FC Nuremberg will duel. This will be followed by an inclusion match in the Glückaufkampfbahn (5.30 pm).

Schalke: Lots of hands-on activities and arena tour

Buntkirchen: “As a club, we are supporting these activities and will also be attending ourselves. There will also be various hands-on activities in the Glückauf-Kampfbahn.” Various event modules such as a bouncy castle, speed control and goal coal will be on offer.

The guided tours of the arena offered by Schalke 04 for club supporters are selling like hot cakes. “It’s been really well received. We have over 130 registrations from club fans for all the activities. For example, we give them a tour of our VELTINS Arena,” outlines Sebastian Buntkirchen. At stairwell 3 on the Arenaring, a joint members’ stand invites fans from both camps to get to know each other and exchange ideas.

“1. FC Nürnberg is part of Schalke 04”

Buntkirchen emphasizes: “The combination of blue-white and red-black is something special. FC Nürnberg is part of Schalke 04 – and vice versa. In the 2000s, the spark of friendship was ignited even more by the active fan scenes of both clubs. As a Schalke fan, I’ve always felt welcome in Nuremberg. I think the same applies to club fans who visit us at Schalke. That’s what friendship is all about. On Sunday, however, the situation in the table is such that we urgently need the points. The very good relationship with 1. FC Nürnberg doesn’t change that. “
