Fatihspor Essen continues to march blithely through the Kreisliga A and has been crowned fall champion. There can only be one goal for the promoted team: The championship.
Fatihspor Essen is and will remain the absolute high-flyer in Essen’s Kreisliga A until the new year. The team from Essen were only promoted this season and are now once again at the very top.
With 40 points, Fatihspor are ahead of their closest rivals, SC Frintrop, and will remain top of the table throughout the winter. With only two defeats, Fatihspor’s consistency is a factor in their success. In any case, the goals are clear.
Fatihspor coach Hassan Fidan on…
The first half of the season: “My summary of the first half of the season is definitely positive. We got the points we needed to get. If we look at the table, there’s not really anything to complain about. I’m very proud of the boys. Normally, it’s very difficult in the lower leagues to have a regular large turnout for any training sessions or matches. That’s not the case with us. “
What was your best moment? “Well, I can’t really highlight any particular matchday. As a newly promoted team, every win was special in its own way.
What was your worst moment? “The first half of the season was actually one great moment. But there are exceptions, of course. The defeat against SC Frintrop on the third matchday comes to mind. We led 3:1 for a long time and everything looked like we were going to win. We then conceded three more goals in the last few minutes and let the three points slip from our grasp in the final minutes. We should have won that. Then it might even have been seven points for second place.”
The goals in the new year 2024: “I’m not really someone who talks a lot. My team and I want to show what we can do on the pitch and let the soccer do the talking for us. But the goal is definitely to keep the gap on Frintrop. As things stand, we also want to become champions. “
