Budapest is not only known for its history and as a city of culture, but also for top-class sport. The latter was underlined this weekend by the Judo Masters. Thousands flocked to the Papp László Arena.

Laura Fazliu showed her best side in the weight category up to 63 kilograms and stormed to her second victory at a world tour tournament. The fighter from Kosovo defeated Miku Takaichi from Japan in the final. Gergely Gulyás presented the 22-year-old with the gold medal.
“I am very happy, this medal is something very special – even more than other medals in my collection. This one gives me drive for future competitions. I am so happy,” said the winner.
In the men’s weight category up to 73 kilograms, Soichi Hashimoto was the best in Budapest. Behruzi Khojazoda from Tajikistan also experienced this in the fight for gold. Hashimoto had a narrow lead, the Japanese took his fourth Masters victory. Talal Al-Fahad Al-Sabah was responsible for the award ceremony as a guest of the World Judo Federation.
