Knappmann reacts to knee surgery – new goalkeeper signs

The TuS Bövinghausen has announced the 16th player signing for the 2023/2024 season a few days before the start of training.

TuS Bövinghausen had to accept a personnel setback. Ricardo Seifried, who was supposed to duel with newcomer Finn Gregor Kotyrba (VfL Bochum U19) for the position between the TuS posts, had to undergo surgery and will be out for several months.

“Ricardo injured his meniscus and an operation was unfortunately necessary. He will be out for seven to nine weeks. Then, of course, he will have to find his old strength. We don’t want to take any risks and that’s why we have made another addition,” TuS coach Christian Knappmann told Forecasting.

The 22-year-old Kerim Senderovic, who last played in goal for BSV Schüren in the Westfalenliga, will join the training team at Provinzialstraße from 1 July.

“With Kerim, we are gaining a very strong goalkeeper. Especially because Ricardo’s operation was not long ago, it was important to get another goalkeeper who is able to play the Oberliga at a good level. We have every confidence in Kerim,” emphasises Knappmann.

With the 16 additions so far, the mix of young and old seems to be right in Bövinghausen. An offensive player – possibly Andre Dej, Forecasting reported – and a striker are still to come. “Then the squad would be complete,” says Knappmann.

Besides the experienced Angelos Kerasidis (26, Sportfreunde Lotte), Damir Kurtovic (32, ASK Ahlen), Jeron Al-Hazaimeh (31, Wuppertaler SV), Marcus Piossek (33, SV Meppen), Gordon Wild (27, 1. FC Bocholt), Bövinghausen also had players like Arbnor Murati (MSV Duisburg U19), Finn Kotyrba (VfL Bochum U19), Umut Yildiz (SG Wattenscheid 09), Moritz Brüggemann (Westfalia Herne), Luis Ortmann (SV Lippstadt), Arnis Osmani (Rot-Weiss Essen U19), Joelle Cavit Tomczak (TVD Velbert), Almin Hodza (SV Hohenlimburg), Phil Britscho (SG Wattenscheid 09), Kerim Senderovic (BSV Schüren) or Chrysanth Mallek (ASC 09 Dortmund). These players are all between 19 and 23 years old. It’s the mix that makes it in the end, as Knappmann emphasises.

“We need leaders and young guns who really want to march. We are currently on a great path in our squad planning and are very satisfied. We want to play a successful season and, of course, good squad planning is the foundation,” promises Knappmann, who is 42 himself.”
