Madness at the Uhlenkrug in Essen. The spectators saw ten goals and a KFC Uerdingen that suffered another setback in the promotion race.
Ratingen 04/19 will play KFC Uerdingen on Sunday (May 12, 3 p.m.). The top match for promotion to the Regionalliga West.
Or rather, in the snail’s race for promotion: because apparently nobody seriously wants to be in the 4th division. It’s hard to understand otherwise when you consider how often the teams at the top slip up.
Ratingen have only won two of their last seven games. KFC Uerdingen usually slip up in every third game. Krefeld are currently doing a little better – but they are carrying the burden of their poor start to the season with them.
However, when they have the chance to pull away, they suffer a defeat. Like on Wednesday evening with the 4:6 (2:2) at ETB SW Essen, who themselves wanted to be promoted for a long time but, like the other top teams, deprived themselves of their reward – with a long negative streak.
And now he spit in the soup of the traditional club from Uerdingen. In a turbulent first half, the game seemed to be going Essen’s way early on.
Niko Bosnjak quickly put ETB ahead. However, the visitors were keen to respond. Justin Härtel provided one after 24 minutes. But Essen were not to be deterred and took the lead again through Mohamed Cissé. However, KFC also countered this goal.
Takumi Yanagisawa equalized shortly before the break. Everything was reset to zero again. And only ETB coach Damian Apfeld seemed to find the right words in the dressing room. Because four minutes after the restart, ETB led 4:2.
Samuel Owusu Addai and Nico Lucas struck twice to shock the Krefeld side in a very entertaining encounter. KFC tried to recover from that too.
And the Krefeld side did indeed come back. First, substitute Phil Zimmermann scored to make it 3:4, and Maximilian Funk, who also came on as a substitute, scored in the 90th minute to make it 4:4.
But anyone who thought that was it was wrong. Because this encounter still had one more punchline left. In the 94th minute, ETB also showed that they have good jokers. It was Kamil Poznanski who made it 5:4 with his goal deep into stoppage time. But it was still not over. Uerdingen threw everything forward, ETB countered and Clinton Williams scored to make it 6:4. The ten-goal spectacle was perfect
