FC Hansa Rostock has sold Ryan Naderi to Glasgow Rangers, shattering the previous 3. Liga transfer record in the process. But that’s not all.

Hansa Rostock received an incredible 5.5 million euros from Glasgow Rangers for its star striker Ryan Naderi. It was an offer that Hansa Rostock, despite its own promotion ambitions, could no longer refuse.

Ronald Maul, CEO of FCH, explained: “The offer from Rangers Football Club reached a level that a 3. Liga club simply cannot refuse. Despite the financial implications, however, our considerations always centered on the player. Ryan Naderi is young, talented, and has a great career ahead of him. He wants to take advantage of the chance to play internationally and prove himself on the big stage at a club like Rangers Football Club. We couldn’t—and didn’t want to—deny him this dream. We’re well aware of his talent and qualities, but we have full confidence in our roster.”

Naderi has scored eight goals and provided five assists in 18 third-division matches for Rostock. These are the kind of scorers the Kogge will miss in their promotion battle.

At least Rostock still has the money. With the 5.5 million euros, they have eclipsed the 4 million euros that Borussia Dortmund II received from Red Bull Salzburg for Hendry Blank in the 2023–24 season.
