The ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen has presented yet another personnel decision after the signing of FC Kray’s best player and the contract extension of Damian Apfeld.
After the signing of Bubakarry Fadika – 20 games, 14 scorer points for FC Kray – and the contract extension of success coach Damian Apfeld (2.1 points per game as ETB coach, editor’s note), Schwarz-Weiß Essen has another surprise in store for its .
ETB has signed Arman Corovic from regional league team 1. FC Bocholt. RevierSport had already announced this transfer at the beginning of the month.
The 25-year-old defender will be part of the Schwarz-Weißen squad from 1 January 2023. This season, he made seven appearances in the Regionalliga West. The left-footer has been playing in Bocholt since 2019 and played a significant role in FCB’s promotion last season. Before moving to the Niederrhein, he played for FSV Duisburg and VfB Speldorf at senior level. In his youth, the Mülheim native was trained at VfL Bochum, TSV 1860 Munich and Rot-Weiss Essen.
“Last summer I was already in contact with ETB, but that was when I extended my contract in Bocholt. Now, in winter, the situation was such that I wanted to leave Bocholt for time reasons, as it was becoming too much for me there in the Regionalliga alongside my job. I’ve been in contact with Damian Apfeld for a long time and we’ve always had a good relationship. He asked me if I could imagine a move to ETB. It all sounded very interesting and I also wanted to work with Damian as a coach,” Corovic explained his move.
He is only 25 years old, but has also been around a bit in his football career. I am convinced that he will help us in our team structure on and off the pitch.
Damian Apfeld
The central defender’s decision to take up the challenge at the Uhlenkrug makes ETB coach Apfeld very happy: “It was important for us to sign Arman Corovic, a left-footed player and a good tackler. He brings an excellent mentality with him, which will be good for us because we also live off it to a certain extent. He played in a very experienced team in Bocholt in the last few years, where he was able to take a lot for himself. He is only 25 years old, but he has already been around a bit in his football career. I am convinced that he will help us in our team structure on and off the pitch. “
