Next win! Knappmann – “We are a top team”.

TuS Bövinghausen is rushing from victory to victory in the Oberliga Westfalen. The Dortmund team won 3:0 at Victoria Clarholz.

Six games, 13 points! Things are going really well for TuS Bövinghausen in the Oberliga Westfalen. On Saturday (16 September), TuS celebrated a 3:0 victory at Victoria Clarholz.

André Dej, Gordon Wild and Bubakarry Fadika scored for coach Christian Knappmann’s team.

Forecasting spoke to Knappmann after the game.

Christian Knappmann, next win! How do you rate the success in Clarholz?

The victory is highly deserved. We were very clear in our actions and didn’t give the opponent the slightest chance.

Are there also things that you don’t like so much?

No, it was simply an outstanding performance by the team. However, I’m sure I’ll find something to complain about on Sunday in the follow-up (laughs).

I currently like the fact that we have realised that only victories count. We don’t have to play spectacularly. We understood very early in the season that a pragmatic approach brings success. That’s what characterises a top team and that’s why we are a top team.

Hands on heart: Did you have any doubts after the 0:2 loss to ASC in the opener?

No! This is my team now and I know how good we are. That’s why I will never doubt the boys.

Now it’s against Erkenschwick. A special duel, also in terms of the atmosphere, isn’t it?

Erkenschwick will be a special game. On the one hand, because there will be a lot of spectators. And on the other hand, because with Magnus Niemöller, I’m meeting a fellow coach who has outstanding skills and whom I also respect very much as a person. We definitely want to reach four figures – that means at least 1,000 spectators – under floodlights. It will be a great game.

What do you particularly like about your team at the moment?

Collectively, we were really strong again. Nevertheless, I’m very proud of André Dej, who didn’t play last week for tactical reasons and who showed a terrific reaction in Clarholz. The same goes for Gordon Wild, who also reacted very strongly to my serious and critical words. I currently like the fact that we have realised that only victories count. We don’t have to play spectacularly. We understood very early in the season that a pragmatic approach brings success. That’s what makes a top team and that’s why we are a top team.
