“Physically and mentally exhausted” former Bochum Leitsch takes a break

Maxim Leitsch, a VfL Bochum player until the summer, has to take some time off.

Central defender Maxim Leitsch of 1. FSV Mainz 05 is suffering from physical and mental exhaustion, and the 24-year-old will therefore not be available to the Bundesliga football club in matches until further notice. According to the Rheinhessen team, Leitsch is currently only able to do light training.

The 05er announced that the exhaustion was “possibly the result of an infection he had overcome”. Leitsch, who was signed from league rivals VfL Bochum in the summer, will undergo further medical examinations and tests.

Leitsch had been in Mainz’s starting eleven for the first seven matchdays this season before being ruled out due to a muscle bruise.
