Schalke entered a blue team and a white team in the women’s competition. Both were promoted at the end of the season.
Two FC Schalke 04 women’s teams have made the leap to the next league. At the weekend, Team White of the Königsblauen celebrated their promotion to the Bezirksliga.
The deciding match against VfB Hüls ended with 4:0. The impressive record of the S04 girls before the deciding match: 18 victories and 180:1 goals – with this yield Schalke became champions in the Kreisliga A.
Coach Boris Liebing summed up after the game on the S04-Hoempage: “A big compliment to the girls. After the long break we had until the deciding game, they put everything into it again.”
Eveline Hamm (2), Leen Ekwo and Katharina Brzeski scored in front of 536 spectators.
Team Blue of FC Schalke promoted to the Landesliga
The Bezirksliga footballers of Team blau had previously been promoted to the Landesliga. “We are very happy about this promotion, which the team has earned with fantastic performances in the course of the season so far,” summed up Liebing, head of the women’s football directorate.
The S04 women also have a great record here. 26 games, 71 points, all with a goal difference of 107:16.
“The early promotion shows that everyone involved in the Directorate of Women’s Football is doing an excellent job hand in hand. With our entry into the next higher division, we are consistently pursuing our planned path,” emphasised Peter Knäbel, member of the Executive Board and responsible for sports, on the Schalke homepage. “Everyone involved can be proud of what they have achieved up to this point.”
Liebing concluded by saying, “We know that the girls invest and take on themselves an incredible amount. The promotion is the result of hard work, commitment and heart and soul. It’s nice to see that everyone’s work is paying off. That motivates us to tackle the next tasks. “
