Schalke 04 fills the vacant director position (sales, sponsoring, service) with Florian Dederichs. He comes from Bayer Leverkusen.
Bundesliga football club FC Schalke 04 has found a man to fill the vacant director’s post in the area of sales, sponsorship and service. Florian Dederichs will take over the job, according to information from this editorial office as well as Sky, and he will start his new post as early as next week on 1 December 2022.
Dederichs comes from Schalke’s league rivals Bayer Leverkusen, where he worked in recent years since 2014. Most recently, he was in charge of internationalisation and Esports as well as sponsorship at the works club.
Dederichs and Schalke’s CEO Bernd Schröder also know each other from Leverkusen. Schröder was director of marketing/sales at Bayer 04 between 1 May 2019 and 1 January 2022, when he started at Schalke, and worked there with Dederichs already. Now the duo is reuniting at Schalke.
The Schalke club organisation chart currently consists of the board around Bernd Schröder, Peter Knäbel and Christina Rühl-Hamers, among them are eleven directorates: Marketing & Strategy (Torsten Wirwas), Communications (Marc Siekmann), IT & Digital (Grischa Loth), Professional Football, Women’s Football (both n.n.), Fans & Sustainability (Sebastian Buntkirchen), Events (Volker Fürderer), Finance (Matthias Echtermeyer), Human Resources & Legal (Marc Hobrack) and, of course, Sales, Sponsorship & Service, for which Dederichs will be responsible in the future.
