This will please the fans of Borussia from Dortmund: shortly before Christmas, a Bundesliga match of BVB can be seen on free-TV.
Football fans can see two Bundesliga matches on free-TV at the end of the year. In addition to the match between Bayern Munich and TSG Hoffenheim, Sat.1 will broadcast another match two days later.
The private TV station Sat.1 will broadcast the Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and Mainz 05 live on free-to-air TV. The match, which is the 16th matchday fixture, will take place on December 19 (8:30 p.m.) during the week just before Christmas. The station confirmed a report to that effect on the “Sportbuzzer” portal on Tuesday.
The Sat.1 broadcast is possible through a sub-license with Sky. The agreement includes another game in the second half of the season. It is not yet known which game that will be. Pay-TV broadcaster Sky holds the rights to Bundesliga matches on weekdays and on Saturdays.
Sat.1 will also show the game between defending champions Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart on December 17 (Sunday, 7:30 p.m.) in parallel with the fee-based streaming service DAZN. This constellation also applies to the German champions’ first game of the new year on January 12 (Friday, 8:30 p.m.) against TSG Hoffenheim.
The free-to-air TV channel Sat.1 had already presented the match between Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich at the start of the season. These three matches are included in the TV contract with the German Football League.
