KFC Uerdingen is actively rebuilding its squad – three players are leaving.
Rafael Hester, Kingsley Marcinek, and Batuhan Özden are leaving KFC Uerdingen this winter break. Two players have already found new clubs.
Marcinek is moving to SV Schermbeck in the Oberliga Westfalen. Forecasting has already reported on this transfer. During the 2-1 win against Holzheim on October 4, KFC coach Julian Stöhr substituted Anthony Oscasindas for Marcinek after halftime, and Marcinek did not play another minute of the match. After seven Oberliga matches and two appearances in the Lower Rhine Cup, his time at KFC has come to an end.
“Kingsley will also help us right away with his qualities. We’re happy that this signing worked out and are simply hoping for a better second half of the season,” said Schermbeck sporting director Markus Falkenstein.
Özden, on the other hand, is staying in the Lower Rhine division. The 23-year-old left winger is moving to KFC rival Sportfreunde Baumberg. Stöhr initially relied heavily on the 23-year-old, but the offensive player largely failed to deliver the goal contributions that were hoped for. The number 11 played ten times in the league, starting five of those matches, the last time on September 28. Now he’s heading back to his former club.

Hester is the third member of the trio. However, the goalkeeper has not yet announced a new club. Hester was originally expected to compete with Jonas Holzum and Noah Koch for the starting spot.
Stöhr initially left open who would be his team’s number one. After the end of preseason, he planned to rotate Hester and Holzum, using each for two games at a time. Hester started in the Lower Rhine Cup against SSV Bergisch-Born (1-0) and also stood between the posts in the Oberliga opener against Baumberg (1-1).
After that, he took a seat on the bench for two matches as planned and was allowed to play again in the game against FC Büderich (1-4). However, Hester then suffered an injury, which interrupted the planned rotation. Jonas Holzum returned to the goal earlier than expected and remained there. Hester was unable to reclaim his spot from the former Sonsbeck player, even though he was unable to train with the team at times for various reasons. Now his time in Krefeld has come to an end.
