ASC 09 Dortmund and Sportfreunde Lotte remain the top duo in the Oberliga Westfalen after matchday 14. Erkenschwick picks up a point against Rhynern
ASC 09 Dortmund defended second place in the table on matchday 14 of the Oberliga Westfalen. In the Dortmund derby against Türkspor, coach Marco Stiepermann’s team won 2:1. The Aplerbeck side are now four points clear of the first non-promotion place.
SV Schermbeck, who secured a further three points in a wild game at TSG Sprockhövel, are in second place. Schermbeck’s 3:1 lead at half-time was shaken once again in the second 45 minutes. Although Timur Karagülmez had made it 4:1 in the 54th minute, a quick double strike from TSG (74th/78th) kept the game exciting until the end.
There was less excitement for Sportfreunde Siegen. They were outnumbered for 80 minutes against TuS Ennepetal following a red card against Lars Schardt (4th). The visitors took advantage of this and won 2:0.
FC Brünninghausen and Eintracht Rheine were also sent off, including three penalties. The promoted side from Dortmund were already 3-1 down at the break, but fought their way back after Leon Broda was sent off in the 63rd minute. Florian Gondrum converted the third penalty of the day to make it 2:3 (87′), but Mervin Kalac quickly responded and secured Eintracht’s 4:2 victory (90+3).
The game between SpVgg Erkenschwick and Westfalia Rhynern was also dominated by sending-offs. After the red card against SpVgg goalkeeper Rafael Hester (5′) and the yellow card against Lucas Arenz (28′), both teams played ten against ten for over an hour. Mazlum Bulut converted the penalty after Hester was sent off (8′). Substitute Stefan Oerterer set up Christoph Kasak for the equalizer (66′).
SpVgg Vreden and 1. FC Gievenbeck played out a goalless draw.
There were significantly more goals between SG Finnentrop/Bamenohl and TuS Bövinghausen. After a first half on equal terms, the hosts went into turbo mode after the break at 2:1 and quickly took a 4:1 lead with a brace from Phillip Hennes (47th/52nd).
Sportfreunde Lotte had already won 2:1 in the top match at SC Preußen Münster II on Friday evening. Coach Fabian Lübbers’ team will therefore remain at the top of the table for another week.
