From the Regionalliga West to the Bezirksliga: A newly promoted team has poached a player from Wuppertaler SV.
Lennard Wagemann is back at SG Hackenberg. The 21-year-old left back is leaving Wuppertaler SV. With this move, he’s making the transition from the Regionalliga West to the Bezirksliga Niederrhein 2.
“‘Lenny’ is a true homegrown player and is now returning to the black-and-yellow. Despite his young age, he already brings valuable experience from the Regionalliga,” SG Hackenberg happily announced on social media.
Wagemann had only joined Wuppertaler SV last summer. In the current Regionalliga season, he has made ten appearances and recorded one assist, but is now returning to his roots.
After playing in the FC Remscheid youth system, his path led him to Fortuna Düsseldorf’s youth academy, where he was trained from the U15 to the U19 levels. Lennard Wagemann then made his first appearances at the senior level in the Regionalliga and continued to develop, including during his time at Wuppertaler SV.

“We’re thrilled that Lennard, with his talent and ambition, wants to bring new energy to the team and take the next step with us. It’s great to see you back in the black-and-yellow jersey, Lenny. Here’s to a great and successful time together,” the club added.
Hackenberg, having been promoted to the Niederrhein 2 District League, is currently in second-to-last place in the standings. Only fellow promoted team DV Solingen II is behind Hackenberg, though Solingen is already trailing by five points.
Hackenberg has twelve points and is still fully embroiled in the relegation battle. SSV Berghausen (13 points), SSV Germania (15 points), and SC Viktoria, another newly promoted team (17 points), are currently their main rivals.
Things are even tighter at the top of the table. SV Solingen sits at the very top with 39 points, but SC Reusrath (38 points) and FSV Vohwinkel (36 points) are ready to pounce should SV Solingen slip up,
