Wuppertaler SV Adds Another Player – “Our Dream Striker”

Wuppertaler SV, currently fighting relegation, has made another addition to its roster. A striker is joining from a league rival.

Wuppertaler SV has signed another attacking player to bolster its fight to stay in the league: Josue Santo is joining the team on loan from Sportfreunde Siegen until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old center forward has already made 17 appearances for Sportfreunde Siegen in the current Regionalliga West season, scoring two goals and providing two assists. Santo will now take the field in a WSV jersey and provide the team with additional goal-scoring threat as a center forward in the final stretch of the season.

The player is looking forward to his new role: “Hello, dear WSV fans, this is Josue Santo, and I’m very excited to be here and support the team.”

Sports Director Gaetano Manno adds: “Josue Santo is exactly the striker we wanted. We’ve been pursuing him since November. He’s the center forward we’ve been missing this season. He holds up the ball well, has a great attitude, and pure grit. He has already impressed at Siegen. We’re very happy that he’s now with us.”

Sporting Director of Sportfreunde Siegen explains Santo loan

Regarding Santo’s move, Matthias Georg, Sporting Director of Sportfreunde Siegen, adds: “Following the signing of Paul-Philipp Besong, it’s very important to us that Santo gets sufficient playing time. We have great confidence in his abilities and are pleased that he can now get started in Wuppertal for five months before returning to us in the summer.”

Siegen has signed Besong from SSV Ulm, also on loan until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old Paul-Philipp Besong is moving to Siegen on loan from third-division club SSV Ulm 1846 until the end of the season. The versatile attacker can play both in the center and on the wings and brings speed, athleticism, and a knack for scoring goals. This season, he has already appeared in 18 third-division matches for Ulm. Previously, Besong played for Borussia Dortmund II, 1. FC Nürnberg II, and FC Erzgebirge Aue, among others, gaining valuable experience at a high competitive level.
