In the 3. Liga, SSV Ulm 1846 is fighting to avoid relegation. A new striker is now expected to do what Dominik Martinovic has not yet been able to do due to injury.
SSV Ulm 1846 signed Dominik Martinovic from Rot-Weiss Essen just this past summer. The 28-year-old was expected to take on a leadership role up front—and initially did so, scoring one goal and providing one assist in three 3. Liga matches.
But then came the torn cruciate ligament, which continues to sideline Martinovic. When he returns, he’ll also have to contend with new competition. That’s because SSV Ulm has signed Streli Mamba.
The 31-year-old, a native of Göppingen, has signed a contract with SSV Ulm 1846 through June 30, 2026, with an option to extend, and has been assigned jersey number 45.
With Streli Mamba, SSV Ulm 1846 is welcoming an experienced forward who was born and raised in the region. “For me, it’s like coming home. I know SSV Ulm 1846 well from my childhood in the region. Now, being able to play for the club after so many years is something special, and I’ll do my best to help us achieve our big goal of staying in the league together,” said the 31-year-old, who was most recently a free agent.

He took his first steps in soccer at FTSV Kuchen and SV Ebersbach before moving to the VfB Stuttgart youth academy. After further stints in the youth ranks, he played for FC 08 Homburg in the Regionalliga Südwest. In professional soccer, he played for SC Paderborn, Hansa Rostock, and Energie Cottbus, among others.
He has made 24 appearances in the Bundesliga (five goals), 15 games in the 2. Bundesliga (one goal), 36 matches in the 3. Liga (eleven goals), and 58 Regionalliga games (27 goals). He also played in Turkey, Kazakhstan, and China. So he’s certainly seen quite a bit of the world.
“Streli has seen and experienced a lot in his career. But one thing he’s always managed to do is score goals. He’s had a good scoring rate at every club he’s played for, and we’re hoping for the same here in Ulm,” said Ulm’s general manager, Stephan Schwarz.
